Abhijit Das, a class II student wins 1 ^st Prize Eight year old Abhijit Das is the son of 56 year old Naru Gopal Das a fruit seller helper of Muchi Bazaar, Ultadanga area of Kolkata. His mother Alpana Das, 52 years, was unwell and remained mostly in the st th house. Abhijit won the 1 prize on 19 January 2019 for his Group C category drawing on the theme 'Clean city Green City' organized by the Ultadanga Police Station. A student of Sarada Prasad Vidyalaya he was enrolled with Mayar Khela since 2017, the cultural unit of Maya Foundation. The talent and interest of the child was nurtured by the Foundation which won him the award.

Abhishek Rajak secures 4^th position in Class 9 final exam after attending Nabadisha coaching class.A student of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in the Ultadanga area Abhishek is the son of a local washer man Ranjit Rajak and mother Gauri Rajak who is a domestic worker. Abhishek was a meritorious student and all he needed was guidance from the coaching centre of Nabadisha. His continuous endeavor th along with the effort of the staff of Maya Foundation helped him to secure the 4 position in his final exam from class 9 to 10.

Nazia Nasreen finds work in Mid Day Meal program, is able to provide medical help to child suffering from cancerNazia Nasreen lives in Raza bazaar area. She used to receive very little financial help to run the family as her husband could not give the required support. In 2014 Maya Foundation started its mid day meal, under Sarva Shiksha Mission in which Nazia started working. She received all kind of help including health checkup. In 2017, one of her daughters was detected with cancer. With the help of Maya Foundation, Nazia was able to get medical help in time to help her child get better. Not only her children benefitted from the Mid Day Meal program but she too was able to improve the condition of her family by working here.

Urban Shelter for homeless for male gives Md. Shakil a direction Md Shakil age 37 son of Md Yasin was found near Sealdah Station. He was handicapped. Maya Foundation's shelter for Urban homeless provided him with shelter where he still lives today. While here, Md Shakil was given vocational training in housekeeping for 1 year conducted by Nishtha Institute (under NSDC recognized institute). After the completion of the course he will receive a certificate from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. A placement cell of the Institute will try to give him placement. He not only found shelter but also a direction to follow with a purpose in life. Maya Foundation was able to give the necessary support to help him return to the mainstream.

20 year old mother with two siblings rescued by Police, referred to Shelter for Urban Homeless Two very young children aged 6 and 5 along with their 20 year old mother were found by Ultadanga Police Station who referred them to shelter for urban homeless run by Maya Foundation, supported by Department of Woman and Child Development and Social Welfare, Government West Bengal. She was given shelter, counseled, her address was traced to Bihar and after a few days was returned to her father in Bihar. The cause of her drifting away from home was torture by her husband. Maya Foundation has kept in touch and made sure she is well and living in her father's house.

Employee, Kanai Saha of Maya Foundation's daughter Payel Saha completes Nursing course at NRS st with 1 st Class marks and finds work in Islampur Super specialist Medical Hospital.Kanai Saha from North Dinajpur came to Maya Foundation and found work here. When he came to Kolkata he was financially not well off and had suffered two operations in his leg. Dedicated to work, his dream was to see his children do well and be established. His daughter Payel was a good student having passed Madhyamik and Higher Secondary with 1st Class marks. All Kanai needed was support to carry on with her education. Having found employment at Maya Foundation he was able to admit his st daughter to the Nursing program in NRS. Payel was able to complete the Nursing course with 1st Class marks and found work in Islampur Super Specialist Medical Hospital. Kanai is grateful to Maya Foundation for all the support he has received over the years.

Md Siddique stops begging, gets handicap certificate from the government with the help of Maya FoundationIn Sealdah station Md Siddique, 62 years and handicapped, used to beg for daily allowance for survival. Urban Shelter for homeless centre staff discovered him and brought him to the shelter. He has been living there for the last 3 years now. Maya Foundation helped him to get a handicap certificate because of which he gets a monthly pension. He now lives with dignity and no longer has to take the trouble to earn at this age. Intervention at the right time has made his life better.

Sneha Halder from Kakdwip stands 1 st in class from VII to VIII after being admitted to Bijoygarh Shiksha Niketan residential school in Jadavpur.Sneha studied till class IV in Kakdwip. However her studies were hampered because of family problems. His mother worked as domestic help and was unable to help. She was referred by Sarva Shiksha Mission to the residential school. This is where Maya Foundation came forward and soon Sneha was able to attend classes and was able to score high. In the final exam from class VII to VIII she came 1 st . Besides studies she also took part in the different activities in the school that helped in her overall development.
