Children Social Integration and Education (Maya Sishu Bikash)

Residential School for 100 girls coming from the very underprivileged family. Most of the young girls come from the adjoining areas and from very underprivileged section of the society. Due to family problems or poverty they are unable to attend or go to regular schools. There are varied situations and the problems are way too many for the young girls and their parents to solve. Maya Foundation along with Sarva Shiksha Mission, Government of West Bengal, helps them to continue their education and also provide an all around development through multiple co-curricular activities. Children being children need the right environment to grow and this has been given to them. The children here today are more happy, confident and away from adult problems so that they can concentrate in their education.

Nabadisha mainstreaming centre along with Kolkata Police, Govt. of W.B. Ultadanga and Phoolbagan Police Station. The children here are given facility to study and prevent dropouts. This has been a very successful project as over the years children have been coming to the centre to clear Donations to Maya Foundation is exempted from Income Tax under 80 G (5) (vi) IT Act of 1961 8 doubts, do their homework, and memorize class lessons. Most of the children come from homes were both parents are working and have minimal literacy with very little time or energy to give the children the necessary support. The children are kept engaged in their daily routine and do not loiter here and there. Their minds are engaged in positive creative work like study, drawing, sports etc. Some of them have shown keen interest in studies as a result of the continued effort and done well in school. Their interest in education has been sustained due to special care and support given by the Staff of Maya Foundation.
